Willard 5th Grade Parents/Guardians...Great news! At this time, the 2021 Willard Awards Day program, to be held on Wednesday, May 26th at 9:00AM, will allow limited attendance for the parents/guardians of grade 5 students. Planning is underway for Field Day at Willard on Friday, May 21st. Our students have been CHAMPIONS this year and we look forward to closing our year with some fun!
Do you have old shoes that you no longer need? Bring them to Willard so that they can be reused or recycled! Now through Friday, you can bring your old shoes to school so that our friends at the Randolph County Recycling District can find a new home for them. Reminder! Spring Flower Sale pick-up is this afternoon from 3:00-5:00PM in the back lot at Willard. If you sold flowers, please plan to pick them up and deliver them to those who purchased from your child. Go Warriors!
Did you know that all 4th grade students are eligible for the "Every Kid Outdoors" pass which provides free access to National Parks and some state parks? Additionally, due to closures this past school year, the program is open to students in grade 5 this year as well. Check it out!

As many of you are aware, Governor Holcomb announced Indiana's mask mandate will end April 6. I want to make everyone aware that according to Governor Holcomb’s declaration, face coverings will remain mandatory in all state buildings, all vaccination and COVID-19 testing sites, and in K-12 schools. In other words students, staff, and individuals attending school functions will still be required to wear a mask in schools after April 6. With today’s shift in Randolph County to Yellow Status it is important to do all we can to slow the spread so that our end of the school year events are as close to traditional as we can make them.

The state of Indiana requires that every school provide child abuse education to students. For Willard students, this is provided through the "Child Safety Matters" program. This program will be taught on March 29th and 30th by our friends from the Child Advocacy Center. Your child should be bringing home an "opt out" form very soon. This form outlines the components of the program and should only be signed and returned if you DO NOT want your child to participate. Please feel free to call the Willard office with any questions or concerns.
